Dear Mr. Markham,
I enclose you a programme of the work of the Civitas Club for the present season. They are very desirous of having your thought to aid us on the afternoon of Febr. Twenty-eight at three oclock. Could you talk to us for twenty minutes or half an hour on some phase of the new religious spirit? There will be also two young clergyman/moderns and possibly a third, who will occupy each ten or fifteen minutes. The return ($25) which we desire to make for your kindness will have little relation to the value of the service, but will partially express our sincere appreciation of your presence with us. Hoping that you will consent to give the club the hour and that Mrs. Markham will join you as our guest believe me, with highest esteem.
Very cordially yours,
Katherine L. Maltby Meserole
