Dear Mrs. Markham:
Bless your hearts for promptly reassuring me as to Tiger! Your letter came when I was still wondering whether my friends and readers would understand my writing and printing it. As far as I have heard, the attacks have been made upon the possibility of the story and the fitness of telling it in verse, but not upon its essential truth as a story symbolizing the irony of the general situation. But as I say, I was still wondering when your letter came. After that letter I felt not one qualm more. Bless your hearts for promptly reassuring me!
Yours very much
Witter Bynner
