April 25, 1932.
Mr. Edwin Markham,
Westerleigh Park,
West New Brighton, N.Y.
My dear Markham:-
I suppose you have so many letters of congratulations on your birthday that you have not even been able to read them, but if you ever get around to it, here is mine. You have done a magnificent work for a great cause, and I am glad to see that even the capitalistic newspapers cannot find anything bad to say about you. I sent you a copy of my autobiography, “American Outpost”, and hope it reached you all right.
Sincerely,
Upton Sinclair
