Friday
Beloved Edwin Markham, Comrade of The Dawn, Brave Dreamer of Brave Dreams, Courageous Champion of The Oppressed, and World’s Greatest Living Poet,
Hail Brother:
Thank You! It is too good to be true that you are with us once more and that the trees are really planted. I will try to be worthy, and do all in my power to carry on the fight for our Dreams. I am more happy than I can say that I am to help you to help the Children. I will do my best, and Eugene, and your other lovers here will help me. The idea grows. Maybe we could put on some benefits too. I’ll write to the folks at home as I promised and tell them about our great doings and dreams for the children. I long to serve Edwin Markham, God’s Prophet, and B.B.B. in every way in my power. The people will come to see the tree, and I will try to carry our Dream to the people. But you must pray for me, and The Poets’ Garden, and the Children, and ask God to help me and set me free so that I can serve Him and the Song, and offer up the best that I have. Hail, Hail, and never farewell. And all thanks from the deeps of me. May I be worthy of your faith and friendship and the great trust. Your comrade in the Dream, Ruth Le Prade
If Dr. Smith is willing we will drive you on Sunday as we planned, so don’t let someone else kidnapp you.
Love to the end
