Dear Edwin Markham,
Greetings on your 78th birthday! I read with real pleasure the interviews with you in the “Telegram” and “Times” and rejoice that you are still active and forging ahead. I am still a member of the Poetry Society and get its bulletins. The enclosed will tell you something of the Bronx group with which I am now affiliated. Its minister is a Socialist.
My entire family joins in best wishes to you and Mrs. Markham.
Affectionately,
Leonard D. Abbott
