Oct. 10, 1899.
My Dear Friend Markham:
Will you kindly let me know at once if you can lecture here, when you come west in December, and if so at what time? We, of course, want to pay your usual _____. Can you give us a definite date? I devoutly hope you can. A committee of the college came to see me about it this morning. Pres. Gates is also very anxious to have you come. It would be good for all. Then you and I could have a heartsome time before I sail for Palestine and Russia. Please let me hear at once.
Most lovingly,
George D. Herron
