Mr. Edwin Markham
92 Waters Ave.
West New Brighton, N.Y.
Dear Sir:
As you will see from the enclosed announcement I have recently secured the controlling interest in the “International Monthly, Inc.” and shall henceforth, beginning with the May issue, edit the International myself. Among the manuscripts handed over to me by the old editors I find yours: “Slaves of the Drug”. I beg to thank you cordially for your contribution and assure you that your manuscript will have my careful consideration at once. You will understand that a great deal of work has been put upon me at the outset of this undertaking and you will bear with me, I know, until I am able to catch up with the work in hand. Trusting that I may rely upon your continued cooperation, I beg to remain,
Very truly yours,
Lindley M. Keasbey
Editor.
