March 9, 1912.
Mr. Edwin Markham,
West New Brighton,
Staten Island,
N.Y.
Dear Mr. Markham:
It has become rather urgently necessary for me to get Mr. Everett’s poems back within the next few days. Of course I want your opinion on them, but I don’t want to bother you to read them at once unless you find it convenient to do so. I know how busy you are and I hope you understand my position in the matter. Mr. Everett wants me to come to a decision on them this week if possible. I enclose herewith postage for their return. Please accept my thanks whether you read them or not.
Sincerely yours,
B. Russell Herts
